As we begin the campaign for U.S. Congress, I'd like you to know how grateful and honored I am to serve Colorado in the State House of Representatives and in the State Senate over the last six years.

During my service, I've worked tirelessly to represent the conservative Republican values we hold dear in Colorado.

In a time of global uncertainty abroad and big-government burdening citizens here at home, I am convinced that the people of Colorado's 6th Congressional District deserve a proven conservative leader who will fight for our values.

That's why my family and I decided I should run for Congress to replace a conservative hero like Congressman Tom Tancredo. With your help I will be able to continue my record of conservative leadership at the federal level.

Over the past several years, leaders of Colorado's conservative movement have honored me by recognizing my hard work to reduce taxes, shrink government, defend the innocent unborn, and protect our Constitutional freedoms.

• I was honored to be designated Legislator of the Year in 2003 by Colorado Right to Life with the passage of my bill requiring parental notification for minors seeking abortion.
• I have led the fight to protect TABOR and limit taxes. Subsequently in 2004 I was awarded "Taxpayer Guardian" by CUT, the Colorado Union of Taxpayers.
• I was awarded the "Guardian of Small Business" three sessions in a row by the National Federation of Independent Business (NFIB) for my continuous support of small-business issues.
• I'm also proud to have earned an "A" rating from the National Rifle Association.

After examining my record of leadership, I hope I can have the opportunity to earn your support in order to advance our conservative values in Congress.
